I would suggest getting a list of the top 100 social networking sites such as Myspace and Facebook, then also getting a list of the top 50 video sharing sites . With these lists you want to join each of the sites and fill out your profile details ,leave a link to your website and introduction about yourself and your website. The best way to go about doing this is by using one email address and username for all accounts , I would suggest making a new email account for this specifically. Basically you just want to spend five minutes on each site and setup a profile , upload a profile picture and start a blog or create a group. You also always want to use your real name as it is a great way to brand yourself and your business online. The results speak for themselves , after a month or so just by typing in your website or name into google you will see pages of results from these sites as back links. You will always want to try and leverage the top 3 -5 sites you think you can get alot of potential traffic or customers from , that is why it is good to join these platforms as you never know which one is going to hit a critical mass point and just explode .

In reality people use social media marketing alone to promote their business , the days of people paying for leads and traffic being critical to their success are dwindling.
