At the beginning of the list is a rather new drummer, several may possibly say that he isn't in reality a punk drummer and more of a metal one but I differ, it's true that he likes to slow it down and do some metal fills yet at heart he's really a punk-
Steve Jocz -AKA "Stevo"Born July 23, 1981. Steve is mainly identified for his drumming within the Canadian pop punk band Sum 41. An extremely quick and tight drummer, he can change the atmosphere of a tune right away. One of the small amount of punk rock drummers that has the capacity to sneak in cheesy metal rolls and get away with handling it. He is also renowned for his toilet humor which is a guaranteed symbol of punk maturity/immaturity- you pick!
Travis BarkerBorn on November 14, 1975. Maybe most renowned for his drumming in Blink 182 he has also drummed for various alternative groups. Travis comes in at number 4 not only because of his skillful speed and timing but due to his extended range of styles from Punk to Hip-hop, Country to Pop.
Tre Cool (real name Frank Edwin Wright III)Born 09/12/1972. He is part of the original (pretty much) 3 piece that are Green Day. Swaying a lot closer to the pop aspect of punk as a drummer, Tre absolutely aided Green Day attain the worldwide audience that drove them to megastars. If he been just one more, breakneck speed, same old drummer the band could have toiled to interest such a immense market.
Josh FreeseBorn on December 25, 1972. Freese is predominantly renowned for his drumming in The Vandals however can list a lot of other groups and achievements. A breakneck velocity drummer he can also slow it down and unite with the best and has performed for Guns N' Roses, Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson as if to illustrate the point. Josh's solo albums can also show off a deliberate, more refrained drumming manner showing that speed isn't really all nevertheless personally I prefer the Vandals racket.
Erik Sandin-AKA "Smelly"Born 29/07/1966. Erik is the long-lasting drummer for NOFX. Erik had been an original member of the band but departed two years later in 1983. In 1986 he was convinced to re-join the band but suffered from heroin addiction right up until 1992 when he checked into a therapy clinic and has been off the drugs constantly since. Whilst Erik definitely isn't the top of many people's list, for anybody who loves the brilliance of NOFX then there is simply no match.
