Of all the muscle groups in our body the back is the largest and most complex. The glutes are the largest single muscle but the combined mass of all the back muscles is even bigger! So why then do so many people neglect this huge area? Simple answer - you can't see it. You may have heard of the phrase 'Beach Muscles'. These are the chest, the biceps and the abs. The display muscles. The show-off muscles. The most trained muscles in human anatomy. They are always in our view so we focus on them to the point of neglecting other more important areas.

Back pain, especially in the morning when arising that slowly reduces as the day progresses is often due to stress on the kidneys. That can be from a simple lack of water or it can be that digestion is incomplete which produces toxins that stress the kidneys (blood filters). Toxins that can not be eliminated will be deposited in the joints, often in the joints lower back causing pain, inflammation and stiffness upon awakening or when standing up after sitting for a while.

There are millions of people who suffer back pain every day of their lives. Many of these people have tried lower back exercises that were said to ease back pain. But these exercises should come with a warning. Too much of a good thing is bad in the case of back exercises. Many times, you end up with worse pain than you had.

Causes

The most important and widely used homemade remedy for backaches is garlic. Use two to three garlic gloves every morning during your breakfast. What you can also do is fry ten cloves of garlic in 60ml of oil and rub this oil on your back to feel great relief from your back pain. Cook mustard, sesame and coconut oil on slow fire until they become in color. Keep it to chill and then apply on the back. Leave it for three to four hours and after this take a warm bath for better results. Continue doing this for fifteen to twenty days.

The beginnings of this disease usually show itself in the other body parts such as the joints and ligaments and the spinal cord. The backache can appear out of the blue or it can also be constant. Similarly it varies from individual to individual as to if it will reside in a specific area or spread to several related areas such as the neck and the spinal cord. Its intensity also differs with its representation in the form of a mild pain or a comparatively sharper pain.

Treatment

Back pain treatment can be just as simple as using a heating pad. In many cases, back pain is caused from muscle strain and or muscle spasms and heat can help relax the muscles and keep them from contracting and causing a Charley horse type of effect. It can be very painful all the same, but heat does help. There are many different types of heating pads these days and if you have a long time back problem, you may need to invest in one of the newer water filled type of heaters. Water therapy is great for the body so this type of back pain treatment can be very beneficial all around.

Lower back pain can be treated only when you have identified the origin of the pain. After you have identified the affected area, there are various options as far as lower back pain treatment is concerned, which generally depends on the severity of the pain. If you have a ruptured muscle or ligament, the treatment you would need would be completely different and best person to decide on the treatment type would be a spine specialist. One of the most common treatments for low back pain is acetaminophen. It is a pain reliever that is taken orally. This will relieve you from pain for a short period.

Over-the-counter medications can do much to reduce inflammation and allow you to carry on with your day pain-free. But in the quest to heal injury and prevent future pain, the best back pain treatment is that which strengthens the back and heals the body. Part of back pain treatment that will help accomplish this goal is an exercise program as prescribed by your doctor. It is essential that you work with a medical professional who will take your body’s specific needs into consideration and monitor you closely so that you do not cause further damage.
